23rd Dec gig: Introducing the singers

Not long to go! Are you as excited as we are? Let's continue introducing you to the band - this time, we have our gorgeous singers:
- Miranda Wilford: also a singer with The Sid Lawrence Orchestra, is also a force to reckon with as an incredible actress and dancer, and here's a secret - she's actually She-Ra (which explains her superhuman abilities)
- Giles Terera: also stars in The Book of Mormon, has won several awards (he's certainly won our hearts), and has his own Wikipedia page (we'll get one, one day, hopefully...)
- Angharad Sanders: is also the resident musical director for the R.A.F. Northolt Military Wives Choir, has MD'd more musicals than we have the time to count, and loves to bake cakes (we always knew she was a sweet lady)

Wow, what a line-up! Tickets are selling fast, so be sure to book yours asap: http://www.hippodromecasino.com/whatson/spice-fusion-3/

See you on the 23rd December at The Hippodrome Casino in London!

23rd Dec gig: Introducing the rhythm section

We're all very excited about our gig on the 23rd of December at The Hippodrome Casino in London, and so our introduction to the band continues with our incredible rhythm section:

- Piano: Steve Corley - who is also Alison Moyet's MD, holds the record for the most consecutive Christmas day performances at Munsons coffee shop in Ealing (and always asks if he can leave his gear there until next year), and loves his allotment (earning him the #1 supplier of veg status to the Ealing music community)
- Guitar: Alan Wormald - also guitarist for Shakatak, lets his warped sense of humour get his guitar into overdrive, and loves Hawaiian shirts
- Bass: Simon Goulding - has gigged with Robbie Williams, loves his Cuban coffee (which explains his highly energetic grooves) and the ladies adore watching him “make love” to his bass guitar (smooth moves, dude)
- Percussion: Mike Hamnett - resident percussionist at the Lion King since it started many moons ago, is very nimble with his sticks (he plays a 5-octave marimba), and loves tapas (can be regularly seen at any La Tasca)
- Drums: Elliott Henshaw - who is also Leo Sayer’s drummer, is so good with beats that he’ll also beat anyone at Scrabble, and his affection/respect can easily be bought with anything chocolatey

We look forward to seeing you on the 23rd of December!

23rd Dec gig: introducing the sax section

We're very excited about our gig at The Hippodrome Casino on the 23rd of December - such a great way to kick-start Christmas! So who’ve we got lined up? Well, for starters, the sax section will be the same line-up as on the CD, Trying Too Hard - how wonderful is that! In no particular order, we have:

- Sean Freeman - also Sax Man for Level 42, curry-cook extraordinaire and one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet
- Simon Willescroft - also Sax Man for Duran Duran, international jet-setter and getting married next year (don't tell the ladies!)
- Scott Garland - once upon a time played sax with the Spice Girls (notice the “Spice” pattern going on here?), known for reaching stratospheric notes and loves yoga
- Bob Sydor - multi-wind instrument expert, and you’ll have seen & heard Bob on the TV & radio thousands of times without even knowing it, avid collector of mouthpieces
- Simon Niblock - also Sax Man for Tony Hadley, arranger for 100s of artists and owns a very loopy boxer dog (who sings when Simon practices his sax)

We’ll be updating you again soon with details of the next section! Meanwhile, get your tickets here:

Drummer Magazine, Nov issue: review of Spice Fusion gig

The Spice Fusion gig at The Hippodrome Casino on 30th September 2014 was reviewed in this month's Drummer Magazine - a wonderful article written by Callum Green. Here are a few of our favourite quotes:

"The energy was kept alive with one of the tightest rhythm sections around as they blasted through plenty of funk, soul and pop, from ABBA to Stevie Wonder..."

"The set had plenty of vibrancy... however, there were also moments of calm, filled with smooth, slow jazz."

"After Spice Fusion's wonderful roller coaster of a set, I went away not only humming all the great tunes, but also feeling inspired..."

Thanks, Callum!
