Simon Niblock - Arranger & producer; Alto sax, keyboards
After graduating from Leeds College of Music in 1983, Simon has toured the world extensively writing and performing on the saxophone, clarinet and flute for groups such as The Drifters, Kid Creole and The Coconuts, Leo Sayer, The Matthew Herbert Big Band and many more.
He has also toured with shows such as Grease, Fame, Rat Pack, and performed in west end shows such as Priscilla Queen of the Desert and The Ray Charles Tribute Show.
In 2001 he set up his company Nibmusic to concentrate on writing for television and radio, such as the BBC philharmonic orchestra, BBC Wales, ITV and the Bafta awards, as well as for cruise ships, production shows and dozens of singers and instrumentalists across the world.
Elliott Henshaw - Producer, song writer; Drums
Elliott first played the drums at the age of 13. He was self-taught until the age of 18 when he studied at Salford University with Manchester session drummer Steve Gilbert. It was whilst playing for the Salford University Big Band that he twice won the BBC radio 2 big band drummer of the year award. He consequently went on to play for the nationally renowned Andy Prior Orchestra.
After he left Salford University Elliott continued to tour and record with Andy Prior for a further 6 years appearing on numerous TV and radio shows. In 2001 he toured the UK with the hit show Anything Goes; this was followed by a tour with Wayne Sleep and Melanie Stace and eventually led to him deputising in London's west end.
Elliott works with artists and bands that include; Shirley Bassey, John Lord and Roger Glover (Deep Purple), Michael Ball, Leo Sayer, Joe Longthorne, Jane Mcdonald, Tony Christie, Kirk Whalum, Andy Abraham, Keely Smith, Tony Hadley, Limahl, The BBC Big Band, Syd Laurence Orchestra, The Drifters, Gwen Dickie, Gabriella Cilmi, Georgie Fame, Mathew Herbert, Bob Mintzer, Mike Stern, Laurie Holloway and Michael Feinstein. His west end credits include; Lion King, The Rat Pack, The Bodyguard, Jersey Boys, The Producers and Priscilla Queen of the Desert.

Adam Linsley - Trumpet
Adam Linsley is a freelance trumpet player based in London. With roots in the brass band world, Adam performed with top class bands including Brighouse & Rastrick & Yorkshire Imperials before heading to the high seas for a few years working in show & dance bands on cruise ships.
As a show player Adam has worked in many west end shows including: Starlight Express, Cats, Guys & Dolls, Jesus Christ Superstar, Movin' Out, Cabaret, Chicago, Jolson, Billy Elliot, Legally Blonde and Bodyguard.
Adam has performed & recorded with many diverse artists including Michael Ball (18 years in his regular touring band), Shirley Bassey, Jack Jones, Cliff Richards, Petula Clarke, Mungo Jerry, Bjork, Skandalous (including chart success with a track co-written with Matt Johnson from Jimorquai called "I got the horn" featuring Adam's playing), Carly Connor, Sigur Ros, Will Young, Gareth Gates, Jazz Junkies, Dani Sciliani, Ella Eyre, Englebert Humperdinck & Elvis The Concert.

Tom Walsh - Trumpet
Tom Walsh, 22, graduated from the Jazz Course at the Royal Academy Of Music in London with 1st Class Honours in 2013. Whilst there he learnt with Mike Lovatt, Gareth Lockrane, Nick Smart and Gerard Presencer.
In his first year at college, Tom was the inaugural recipient of the Humphrey Lyttelton Jazz Prize, an award for outstanding jazz performance. This gave him a chance at 18 years of age to play with his quintet to an audience of over 3000 people. Tom left the National Youth Jazz Orchestra in 2012, having held the lead trumpet chair with the band for 4 years.
Tom has played lead and jazz trumpet with some of the UK's top big bands including: The Scottish National Jazz Orchestra, BBC Big Band, The Stan Sulzmann Big Band, The Laurence Cottle Big Band, The Stan Tracey Orchestra, The Gareth Lockrane Big Band, Reuben Fowler Big Band, The Callum Au Big Band and Back To Basie. In light orchestral work Tom has played principal trumpet with John Wilson, The RTE Concert Orchestra and has played with The English National Ballet Orchestra and The London Concert Orchestra.
In the pit, Tom regularly deps on the West End show 'Wicked" and previously has played on "Dirty Dancing" and "Here To Eternity". On TV Tom has played lead trumpet on the live X Factor 2013 Big Band show. He is part of Hamish Stuart's horn section, and has guested with The London Horns.
In pop and commercial music Tom has played with artists such as Van Morrison, Mick Hucknall and Mica Paris. In February 2014 he co-produced and played on Al Jarreau's London Gigs at Ronnie Scott's.
Tom writes and arranges for his own sextet, playing contemporary original tunes and standards. He is the grandson of arranger/composer Robert Farnon and cites Jerry Hey, Derek Watkins, Gerard Presencer, Till Bronner and Michael Brecker as some of his biggest influences.
Andy Greenwood is a freelance Trumpet / Flugelhorn player currently playing 1st Trumpet in the West End Musical Wicked. He was fortunate to study with the great Bobby Shew whilst a member of the Wigan Youth Jazz Orchestra. After spending 2 years working for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines Andy joined the National Youth Jazz Orchestra. During this time he was asked to join the Syd Lawrence Orchestra, where he remained a member for 6 years.
Throughout his musical career he has worked with artists such as Al Jarreau, Chuck Findley, Wayne Bergeron, Bobby Shew, Jon Faddis, James Morrison, Bob Brookmeyer, Michael Gibbs, Bill Frisell, Eliane Elias, New York Voices, Conte Candoli, Buddy Childers, Bill Watrous, Chaka Khan, Gladys Knight, Maceo Parker, Westlife, Michael Buble, Shirley Bassey, Georgie Fame, George Michael, Robbie Williams and The Who.

Scott Garland - alto sax
Scott Garland has been playing professionally since the age of 14. His first jobbing gig was with a jazzfunk band called "Hard Lines" in the 1980's. He then started attending rehearsals with NYJO and started gigging with the orchestra at the age of 16. At 18 he went to Berklee College of Music in Boston, to study jazz performance.
On heading back to the UK, he moved from Kent to London and started working in and around London, the UK and Europe. He has played with a variety of artistes and bands, including The Spice Girls, The Brand New Heavies, The Style Council, Shirley Bassey and Michael Ball, as well as doing session work and West End shows.
He has been a member of two award-winning bands - Sax Appeal and The Pete Cater Big Band, both on lead alto sax. He currently lives in Sussex and is teaching, lecturing, freelancing and running his own band Straight To The Heart, a David Sanborn tribute band.

Simon Willescroft - Tenor sax
Simon Willescroft is a London based saxophonist and has toured, performed live and recorded with many different artists, including; Duran Duran, Duffy, Incognito, Tony Hadley, Beverley Craven, John Newman, The Brand New Heavies, Michael Buble, Seal, Robbie Williams, Jools Holland, Muse, James Morrison, Level 42, Peabo Bryson, Barry Manilow and Ce Ce Peniston amongst many others.
"Batesy", as he is affectionately known (we have quite a few Simons in the Spice Fusion band!), has an impressive track record. He is The Royal Marines' Professor of Saxophone and has been Musical Director for many famous artists including Bette Midler, Rick Astley and Richard Shelton.
Who else has he played with? The list is extensive but include Kylie Minogue, Jason Donovan, Elvis Costello, Jamie Cullum, Shane MacGowan, Sister Sledge, Lulu, Rick Wakeman, Dizzee Rascal, The Sugarhill Gang, Chaka Khan, Emma Bunton, Seal, Eddie Floyd, Billy Ocean, Darius Campbell and Carleen Anderson.

Trevor Mires - Trombone
Trevor Mires has been the forefront of the London music for the last ten years. His current work includes his role as Trombonist/arranger for Sir Tom Jones; a member/writer with legendary jazz funk group Incognito for the last 7 years (including 5 albums, numerous world tours and writing/arranging compositions for the band) and touring/recording with former Oasis front man, Noel Gallagher.
He has recently toured with international jazz star Randy Brecker with his Big Band.
His performing credits are wide ranging; he has performed with, amongst others, George Benson, Chaka Khan, Lemar, Beverley Knight, Joss Stone, Gloria Gaynor, Oscar Peterson, Michael Buble, Westlife, Radiohead, Alexander O'Neal.
Trevor was a member of Jamiroquai for a period of 6 months, recording and performing with them. He has also recorded and toured with multi-instrumentalist James Morrison, and he has toured with Sam Rivers Big Band.
Trevor is also a solo trombonist with the Michel Legrend Big Band and has recorded with Pat Metheny, Toots Theilman and David Sanborn.
Maintaining a healthy balance between commercial and more creative projects, Trevor also records in studios for TV and film, as well as recording with Radiohead, and performing with the likes of Alicia Keys and recording and performing with Mark Ronson.

Nichol Thomson - trombone
Nichol is a highly sought after trombonist - his list of who's he's worked with proves the point! He's played with major artists and bands including Incognito, Tom Jones, Tina Turner, Robbie Williams, Grace Jones, Paloma Faith, Omar, Groovejam, Moloko, Duffy, Beverley Knight, Hope Collective, Mutya Buena, Sugababes, Sharleen Spiteri, Boyzone, Brand New Heavies, Olly Murs, INXS, Mel C, Jamie Cullum, Annie Lennox, The Drifters... the list goes on.
Next time you watch TV and there's a live band on, chances are that you might catch a glimpse of Nichol doing this thing!
Mark Frost - trombone
Mark "Frosty" Frost is a fantastic, larger than life character, and his music certainly reflects his personality. He is a highly respected musician, having worked with London Brass, the BBC Big Band, the Ronnie Scott's Big Band, the Michael Nyman Band, and Guy Barker's Orchestra. He has also toured with Gladys Knight, Jack Jones and Al Martino. Mark's orchestral work is equally impressive and includes performing with the London and BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestras, the London Philharmonic, Halle, Ulster and Opera North Orchestras. As if that wasn't enough, he is also a key player in the London session circuit.
Kennedy Aitchison - Piano
Kennedy Aitchison has worked for over 30 years as a musical director, pianist, keyboard player, producer, orchestrator and arranger in many musical genres. His involvement with music theatre, television, film, concerts and tours is long and impressive. Amongst many credentials, he worked as music supervisor, orchestrator and musical director for “I Dreamed A Dream, The Susan Boyle Musical”.
Who else has he worked with? The list is sure long, but they include Riverdance, Les Miserables, The Three Degrees, The Drifters, The Supremes, Martha Reeves, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, The Platters, Brenda Cochrane, Bobby Davro, Frankie Vaughan, Elaine C Smith and many more.
Not only is James phenomenal on the piano, he's also a prolific arranger and producer and has worked with artists such as Sugababes as well as for TV and various media.

Tim Rose - guitars
Guitarist and composer Tim Rose began working professionally in 1995 whilst still at college.
Since this time he has played with many artists including Toyah Willcox, Gerry Marsden, Dave Dee, Mike d’Abo, Mike Pender, Roger Whittaker, Matt Monro Junior, Shaun Williamson, Ron Moody, Brian Conley, Bradley Walsh, The Nolans, Robin Cousins, Al Martino, PJ Proby, Gerard Kenny, David Essex, Carol Decker, Cheryl Baker, Jimmy Osmond, Paul Potts, Beverley Knight and Randy Brecker. In 2013 and 2014 Tim toured with Strictly Come Dancing star Brendan Cole. Tim has also performed with the Philharmonia Orchestra a number of times. TV appearances include the ‘Bond 50th Anniversary Concert’ with The Philharmonia and ‘David Walliams celebrates Dame Shirley Bassey’ on BBC One.
Tim works extensively in London’s West End having played on some 15 shows including Footloose, Saturday Night Fever, Evita, Jersey Boys, Betty Blue Eyes, Priscilla, Shrek, Thriller Live, Beautiful, Kinky Boots, The Bodyguard, Memphis, Wicked, Book of Mormon and Grease on which he held the guitar chair for three and a half years.
In November 2016 Tim released his first solo album, ‘Outlook’ on Pathway Records. Allcompositions are written by Tim and feature Paul Booth, Graeme Flowers, Dave Whitford, Chris Wong, John Humphrey and Ryan Farmery. Other projects Tim has been involved with include a guitar duo with Andy Phillip playing instrumental interpretations of songs by the singer songwriters of the 1970s and jazz fusion quartet Ragin' Hormones (featuring Steve Richardson, Richard Beesley and Seb Guard). This ensemble produced an album in 2005 called 'How it Starts'.
After winning the Performing Arts School music prize for two consecutive years, Simon started working as a pro session musician at the age of 16.

Mike Hamnett - Percussion
A graduate of the Royal Northern College of Music, Mike has played percussion with the Halle, BBC Philharmonic, BBC Concert and BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestras, both in the concert hall and the recording studio. He has premiered works by diverse composers such as Tan Dun, Gordon McPherson, Nicholas Maw and Bill Connor.
As a marimba soloist Mike has performed recitals across the country, including the world premiere of Paul Mitchell-Davidson's marimba concerto "Africana" which was subsequently broadcast on ITV's critically acclaimed arts programme "Celebration".
Other notable performances include the premieres of works by Basil Athanasiadis, Paul Edlin, Tom Armstrong and Graham Lynch as well as performances of Paul Creston's Concertino for Marimba at the Royal Festival Hall,London, and at the Belgian International Marimba Competition and the Linz International Marimba Competition and Festival.
In September 2007, along with virtuoso clarinettist David Campbell, acclaimed composer Paul Max Edlin and award-winning saxophonist and trumpeter Sarah Field, Mike visited Illinois State University as Guest Artist-in-Residence where he premiered works by Matt Wright, Richard Stoker and Zack Zubow.
As a chamber musician, Mike has performed and recorded extensively with the Apollo Saxophone Quartet including the Decca album "First and Foremost".
As a Latin pianist, Mike has performed with and arranged for Caxixi, Apitos, Salsa Pa'Gozar, vibist Victor Mendoza and conguero Birger Sulsbruck. Mike plays a custom made 5 octave marimba made by Ron Samuels and MARIMBA ONE.
Annabel has worked with artists such as Alison Moyet, Alphabeat, Amy Winehouse, Beverley Knight, Charlotte Church, Jamie Cullum, Jason Derulo, Katie Melua and Rumer. She also runs and co-hosts the Ronnie Scott’s Blues Experience in her own monthly residency and has appeared on numerous TV & radio shows and tours. She is also the vocal coach on British talent shows The X Factor and Britain's Got Talent.
Iain Mackenzie - singer
Iain comes from a pedigree of great British jazz and big band singers. After graduating from the Guildhall School of Music, he worked with the Pasadena Roof Orchestra, the RTE Concert Orchestra, the BBC Concert Orchestra and the BBC Big Band. Iain was also the principle male vocalist for the Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Orchestra, and section leader for the Ronnie Scott’s Singers - The iTones.
Iain’s voice is featured on numerous adverts, including ‘Welcome Home’, a T-Mobile advert at Terminal 5, and on a number of film soundtracks, including the British comedy ‘Grow Your Own’. He has also toured with Brendan Cole’s (‘Strictly Come Dancing’) Live and Unjudged show, and again on the Licence To Thrill show.
Iain works widely with vocal groups including Voxtet, The Magnets, The New London Jazz Voices, The Tim Whitehead group, The Kenny Wheeler Mirror Suite, and with South African jazz pianist legend, Abdullah Ibrahim. Other credits include Sandie Shaw, Sophie Ellis Bextor, Joss Stone and Mica Paris.
Julie is a singer and actress based in the London area. Her singing work is incredibly varied - from musical theatre through to jazz, pop and rock. She also writes music, and collaborated on the score to a rock musical which was performed at the 2009 Edinburgh Fringe.
Julie has perfomed in most of the theatres around the UK and in many large festivals around the country and abroad. She has also worked in more intimate settings with smaller groups and duo work. She is currently the female vocalist in Brendan Cole's "Live and Unjudged" tour. And she is certainly a regular favourite with Spice Fusion - with the full 18-piece big band as well as the slightly smaller 10-piece band.
As an actress, she did the UK tour of "End of the Rainbow" understudying the role of Judy Gardland. She has also performed the role of narrator in the Bill Kenwright production of "Joseph and his Technicolor Dreamcoat".
Damien Flood - singer
Damien is an accomplished songwriter, pianist and vocalist. He has also performed for several years on the West End stage, including achieving critical acclaim playing the leading role of Roger in the Tony Award winning musical “Rent”.
Damien's exceptional talent has seen him play many intimate gigs, including at the legendary Ronnie Scott's, whilst also playing to packed houses at venues such as The Royal Albert Hall, The O2 and Wembley Arena.
Damien has also toured with Sir Tom Jones and has appeared on numerous TV shows including Later With Jools Holland, Strictly Come Dancing, The Jonathon Ross Show and The Graham Norton Show. Other artists Damien has performed with include Professor Green for MTV and Radio 1 Live Lounge.
Spice Fusion is certainly very proud to have Damien as part of the band - with his versatility, stage presence and ability to connect with our audience, he is a true talent with a voice that seduces and thrills!
Giles Terera is an award winning actor, musician and filmmaker. His long list of theatre performances include Death And The King's Horseman, The Tempest, Avenue Q and The Book Of Mormon. As well as numerous appearances in London's National Theatre and in the West End, Giles has appeared on film and television. These include CBBC's Horrible Histories, BBC's show Doctors, and the film London Boulevard. He also created the documentary Muse Of Fire, which features interviews with Judi Dench, Jude Law, Ian McKellen and Fiona Shaw.
As if his acting and filmmaking talents weren't enough, Giles is also an incredibly talented singer. From doing his own shows to singing with bands like The Spice Fusion, he knows how to make his audience move - emotionally and on the dance floor!
Miranda Wilford - singer
Miranda is a creative artist with an incredible range of experience in the entertainment world. She is an actress, singer and dancer; she has appeared in many lead roles in London's West End and around the world; she's starred in movies, theatre shows and music concerts. She is also a much sought after choreographer, working with some of the world's biggest producers, directors and stars. This lady is quite simply, ridiculously talented - and we're extremely proud to have her as our regular singer with the Spice Fusion band. For more information, check out her website.
Sandra Marvin - singer
Sandra Marvin is a phenomenal soul, gospel & jazz singer.
She was Kate Bush's backing vocalist in her ground-breaking “Before The Dawn” concerts at the Eventim Hammersmith Apollo in London. She has also worked with many other artists, including Liam Gallagher, Tim Burgess and The Charlatans, featuring on their 2015 album ‘Modern Nature’ and joining them on tour. She has performed at The Royal Albert Hall, The Roundhouse, The Hideaway, Ronnie Scott's and appearances for BBC Radio 2 and the BBC Radio 6 Music Live Music Festival.
Sandra’s studio work is also impressive - she has recorded for Sony, Universal and Disney. This includes singing on the title track for the Oscar-winning soundtrack of the movie blockbuster, Gravity, starring Sandra Bullock & George Clooney.
Sandra’s track record in the world of theatre is expansive. She recently took on the leading role of “Queenie" in the critically acclaimed show “Showboat" at The New London Theatre West End, having previously played the role at The Sheffield Crucible.
She also previously starred as 'Matron Mama Morton' in Chicago and 'Miss Motormouth Maybelle' in Hairspray, (Original West End cast and all UK tours) and joined Michael Ball OBE on his ‘If Everyone was Listening’ and ‘Heroes’ UK tours as a guest artist.
Other theatre shows include: Ragtime, A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Regents Park Open Air Theatre), Porgy and Bess (The Savoy Theatre), The Lion King (Paris) & Cool Hand Luke (The Aldwych Theatre).
Her talent doesn’t end here - she has also been on TV, with performances in Citizen Khan, The Royal Variety Show, The Paul O’Grady Show, This Morning & BBC Children In Need. She also starred in the movie Florence Foster Jenkins staring Meryl Streep and Hugh Grant.
