"Batesy", as he is affectionately known (we have quite a few Simons in the Spice Fusion band!), has an impressive track record. He is The Royal Marines' Professor of Saxophone and has been Musical Director for many famous artists including Bette Midler, Rick Astley and Richard Shelton. 

Who else has he played with? The list is extensive but include Kylie Minogue, Jason Donovan, Elvis Costello, Jamie Cullum, Shane MacGowan, Sister Sledge, Lulu, Rick Wakeman, Dizzee Rascal, The Sugarhill Gang, Chaka Khan, Emma Bunton, Seal, Eddie Floyd, Billy Ocean, Darius Campbell and Carleen Anderson.  

You might even have seen him on TV, as he's been on programmes including The Paul O'Grady Show, The Parkinson Show, Channel 4's Big Breakfast, GMTV, This Morning, Movie Mania and the Johnny Vaughan Tonight Show.
